I have compiled a computer virus list you can use as a reference because most of us, when attacked by a virus, start panicking and don't really know how to react. Computer viruses are really dangerous, especially if you don't know what they're doing. Using an antivirus program with the latest updates available from such software companies like Mcafee that will scan and do a removal of viruses and worms will help protect and repair your pc.

Network Viruses

These are pretty common, especially in computers that are connected to each other by some network sharing application or solution. You can find them in corporate computers or in computers that belong to the same organization and are somehow connected to each other.

Boot Sector Viruses

These used to be extremely dangerous, but they are not anymore because of the fact that they only operate under MS DOS operating system. Because of the fact that their Windows operating system is not really based on DOS anymore, these viruses are not much of a threat at all now.

Macro Viruses

These are really not fun, they are the most common and also the most dangerous kind of viruses. Almost all off the viruses you hear about on TV or in news on the radio are classified as Macro viruses. They are extremely dangerous. They can erase data, alter data or even destroy your entire operating system.

Logic Bomb Viruses

These viruses can be inserted into different programs and once you access a specific function of the program they can activate. They can also be programmed to activate on a specific date, for example, Friday the 13th or April 1.

Boot Sector Computer Virus

Last but not least is the boot sector computer virus. As the name suggests, these viruses are located in the boot section on your computer. Therefore, they can destroy the entire hard drive. They can literally break your machine.

Fortunately most of the viruses that we have talked about can be deleted using high quality anti-virus program.
